Make some
magic today
Support free place-making public art for all!
Naga is part of the Golden Mile, an activation of public space on
JFK Promenade made possible by Illuminate.
We recieve 100% of donations made through our
501c3 Fiscal Sponsor Illuminate the Arts.
Why give?
-
✽
Naga was built by volunteers from the SF Bay area and funded by donors
-
✽
Big art is a big construction project- in a pond! We need permits, tools and heavy equipment to install and maintain this piece.
-
✽
Naga has custom 3d printed and custom coded bubble machines. We refill his bubble juice and periodically need to rent a boom lift to work on the machines in his snoot.
-
✽
We believe that art doesn’t just belong in museums and backyards, we believe art should create joyful public spaces for everyone.
-
✽
We are just a group of artists, tradespeople, and working professionals who already sacrificed a lot to give this gift to the public. We can’t do it without financial support for hard costs.
-
✽
This isn’t all- we have plans to bring our ship- The Aldrovanda II to the park, and continue the world building magic of Naga and the Captainess.

Naga’s maintenance costs depend on when a light goes out or the bubble machine breaks. We worked hard to make him waterproof and last a long time, but when repairs are necessary they cost a lot.
We are also working to bring our ship, the Aldrovanda II, treasure chests by our crew, and an ocean mural to the park to complete the vision and make this space a welcoming place to explore, sit, and spend a while.
We have gotten this far with the generosity of friends and patrons, and believe in the power of public art to change cities. Please join us, if you can, in making the rest of this vision complete.
Our 501c3 fiscal sponsor Illuminate the Arts has made Naga’s visit to the park possible. They work tirelessly to bring public art to San Francisco with inspired placemaking works. To find out more about Illuminate and see their other works on the Golden Mile visit
